"My heart stopped, reset, and restarted itself while I was sleeping"
I was diagnosed with atrial tachycardia and scheduled for an ablation. But one night, everything went black. No sound, no color, no thought. Then an explosion inside me โ and everything came back. The next morning my heart didn't feel tired anymore. I told every nurse and doctor at the surgery appointment. Nobody believed me until the surgeon finally listened for 5 minutes. My heart was perfect...

I've been in cardiology for 15 years and spontaneous cardioversion during sleep is rare but documented. The fact that nobody believed you until the surgeon literally listened is the whole problem with medicine right there.
'No sound, no color but all colors, no thought but you remember it.' That gave me chills. Something happened to you that night that science can't fully explain. Amazing.
You told the check-in nurse, the IV nurse, the anesthesiologist, and STILL had to refuse to go under before the doctor would listen for 5 minutes. Five minutes. That's all it took. Why is it so hard to be heard?
